Mental disorders are one of the leading causes of disability, associated with approximately 18.9% of years lived with a disability. In a Community Health Assessment survey, respondents identified mental health diagnoses including depression, anxiety, and trauma as their single most pressing health issue.

Traditionally, depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, PTSD, and anxiety disorders have been treated with psychopharmacological drugs, including antipsychotics, antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and antianxiety agents, and/or different forms of psychotherapies. Unfortunately, with these treatments, the burden of ongoing mental health disorders is prevented in less than 50% of cases, an outcome indicating the need to find new strategies and practices to improve their management, especially in the BIPOC community.

We increase the availability of health and support services so that they are accessible to all. People are their happiest, healthiest, and best selves when they know their team values them for who they are.

Our existing multicultural community-building approach recognizes that psycho-social development is not necessarily the same for people of different cultures and backgrounds. Interaction can encourage or discourage positive or negative reactions.

The restorative mindset approach places participants at the center of the programming, supported by structured activities, experienced staff, and evidence-based practices aimed at supporting social and emotional well-being.

Our goal is to minimize your negative risk factors and empower you with positive support, resources, and skills through a combination of group counseling and access to comprehensive assessments and treatments.

Here’s What You Need to Know

We’ve answered the most common questions to help you feel informed, supported, and confident.

What is therapy and how does it work?

Therapy is a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a trained mental health professional. Through open dialogue, goal-setting, and evidence-based techniques, therapy helps you understand yourself better, work through challenges, build healthier relationships, and improve your overall well-being.

How do I know if I need therapy?

You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. You might consider therapy if you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, stuck, or simply want support navigating life transitions, relationships, or personal growth. If something’s affecting your peace of mind or quality of life, therapy can help.

Is everything I share in therapy confidential?

Yes, your privacy is a top priority. What you share in therapy stays confidential, with a few legal exceptions: if there's a risk of harm to yourself or others, or in cases of abuse involving minors, elders, or vulnerable adults. Your therapist will review confidentiality in detail during your first session.

How do I choose the right therapist for me?

Finding the right therapist is about comfort, trust, and fit. Consider their approach, experience, specialties, and whether you feel heard and respected in your sessions. It’s okay to ask questions or try a few consultations before making a decision.

What if I don’t feel comfortable with my therapist?

It’s important that you feel safe and supported. If something isn’t working, you can choose another therapist.

What's the difference between virtual and in person sessions?

Virtual therapy (telehealth) allows you to meet with your therapist online, from the comfort of your own space. In-person sessions take place at a physical office. Both are effective; it’s a matter of preference, convenience, and what makes you feel most comfortable.

What is the multicultural wellness approach

A multicultural wellness approach recognizes and respects the impact of your cultural background, identity, and lived experiences on your mental health. This approach integrates cultural awareness, inclusivity, and sensitivity into therapy—creating a more personalized, empowering space for healing and growth.
